Infiniti Q80 Inspiration
Changes for the 2015 Infiniti QX80 are primarily related to styling and trim updates. Starting with the SUV's exterior, the new QX80 gets a redesigned grille, new bumper with an integrated lower grille and flush-mounted sonar, LED headlights and fog lights, and a standard rear bumper protector. New 20- and 22-in. wheel designs debut for 2015, along with new paint colors called Hermosa Blue, Graphite Shadow, and Majestic White.
Inside, Infiniti makes its darker Mocha Burl wood trim standard, and adds it to the steering wheel. QX80s with the Graphite-color interior add new silver contrast stitching and accents for the controls.
The 2015 Infiniti QX80 is offered with a new Deluxe Technology package that combines luxury upgrades from the previous Deluxe Touring package with safety features of the Technology package. Safety-related highlights include a Blind Spot Warning and Intervention system, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention system, adaptive front-lighting system, and Front Seat Pre-Crash Seat Belts. Luxury upgrades include premium semi-aniline leather upholstery, climate-controlled front seats, new leather-trimmed door panels, new Stratford Burl wood trim, 15-speaker premium audio system, Advanced Climate Control System, and a Hydraulic Body Control system. New chrome exterior mirror caps identify Infiniti QX80 vehicles equipped with this new package.
A new Driver Assistance package replaces last year's Technology package, and adds new high-beam assist and Predictive Forward Collision Warning systems. Predictive Forward Collision Warning debuted on the 2014 Infiniti Q50, and is a technology that can "see" two cars ahead to determine whether or not a threat of a collision may exist. These features join Intelligent Brake Assist with Forward Emergency Braking, Backup Collision Intervention, Intelligent Cruise Control with Distance Control Assist, and more.
A new QX80 Limited variant also debuts for 2015, fully loaded with features including all-wheel drive, and, given its name, produced in limited quantities. Unique characteristics of this new "ultra-luxury" variant include darkened headlights and taillights, dark chrome trim, dark-finish 22-in. aluminum wheels, and exclusive paint colors called Imperial Black, Mocha Almond, and Dakar Bronze.
Inside, the QX80 Limited features special Truffle Brown interior décor, quilted premium leather, extended leather treatment, and unique open-pore, matte-finish Ash wood trim. Stainless steel illuminated doorsill plates and Ultrasuede pillar and roof linings complete the cabin.
If these changes sound good, plan to visit your local Infiniti dealership in the fall of 2014 in order to see them for yourself.
