Here’s a neat airless tire made from recycled plastics by Bridgestone. The advantage of course is that you won’t get stuck on the side of the road due to a flat. For this reason the military is a big consumer of airless tires, but the drawback is that the cars using them suffer from vibration problems especially at high speeds – the air, just like in the famous Nike shoes, softens the ride.
